BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S EAGER ALLIANCE WITH IRAN EMBOLDENS HAMAS TERRORISTS TO KILL ISRAELIS
May 10, 2021 – Rabbi Aryeh Spero, president of Conference of Jewish Affairs, stated today:
“As reports pour in of rocket attacks on Jerusalem by the Hamas terrorist organization, we of the Conference of Jewish Affairs stand firmly with Israel and call on President Biden to follow the courageous lead of his predecessor, President Trump, who was a staunch supporter of Israel and who, with clarity, achieved unparalleled strides in bringing peace to the Middle East region through the ground-breaking Abraham Accords.
“It is time for the Biden Administration to step up and enunciate a clear pro-Israel policy, as well as to follow through on implementing the Abraham Accords peace initiatives,” stated Rabbi Spero. “Biden’s stated desire to re-start the ‘Iran Deal,’ the JCPOA, is strengthening terrorist-supporting Iran and emboldening anti-Israel jihadists in the region. Islamist terrorists with territorial ambitions against Israel are noticing the weak and confused policies coming out of the current White House, and are taking advantage of that appeasement by Biden. It almost appears as if they’re concern is only with the wounded Arab rioters, with complete indifference to the actual loss of Jewish life across Israel from raining Hamas missiles.
“According to reports in Arutz Sheva, Israel National News, during riots last Friday in Jerusalem, Hamas terror leader, Ismail Haniyeh, a partner of Iran, blessed the youth who participated in violent attacks against Israel.” He has stepped up his calls for rioters to intensify their attacks on citizens in Israel and is launching missiles against heavy population centers in Israel and near kindergartens.
Rabbi Spero noted that, “It is particularly concerning that, as Israel is under attack, back here in the United States, the anti-Israel zealots of ‘The Squad’ in Congress — Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — are once again demanding and end to U.S. aid to Israel. We believe it is inappropriate and dangerous for United States Congress-women to indicate support for Arab terrorism against Israel at this or any other time. The Biden State Department and Senator Elizabeth Warren are likewise threatening peace by their recent irresponsible statements that embolden both Hamas and the Arab rioters in Jerusalem, and Senator Warren seems intent on making sure Jewish Israelis don’t have the means of defense, as in Iron Dome, to keep themselves alive.”
Rabbi Spero concluded, “Conference of Jewish Affairs agrees with Israel’s Defence Minister, Benny Gantz, who stated: ‘Palestinian terrorism must be fought with an iron fist,’ as well as with opposition leader Yair Lapid’s statement calling for a “strong and determined action to restore deterrence.”
